Forex Trading News – New Zealand Interest Rates steady at 2.5%

The interest rates decision as decided by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand was announced in New Zealand. The announced rate remained steady at 2.5% and was in line with what the market speculated. Following the news announcement the New Zealand Dollar lost a near 70 pips over the American Greenback indicating the New Zealand public did not welcome well this announcement.

Interest Rates Decisions are announced by the region’s central bank. If the interest rate decision is high or is hawkish with regards to the region’s inflationary outlook of the economy it is usually associated by hawkish behavior of the currency.
