GFK Consumer Confidence figures for the month of April were announced in the United Kingdom. The announced figure of -31 was lower than the -28 the market speculated and also from the -28 reading of March. Despite this reading being the lowest since February 2009 the sterling did not appear to be affected from this reading especially since today’s GPD announcement.
The GFK Consumer Confidence estimates the value of consumer confidence in of the economic activity. A high value of consumer confidence generates economic expansion while a low value could lead to economic decline. Usually, a high reading is associated by positive behavior for the British Pound
